Bright colors!

Last week I started a  I started a GuruShots account. GuruShots.com is a photography game, they say. It’s free, but if you want to get ahead, you have to buy swaps, fills and keys. Good quality of your photos does not mean that you end up high. It is determined by votes. Seems very fair, but the system determines whether or not your photo is seen. Only than people can vote for your foto. To be seen you need swaps, fills and keys. And then we are back at the begining of this post.

Fine way to earn money for GuruShots. It again shows that nothing on the internet is free.

Positive about starting that account was that I looked op a lot of old photos. The challenges were about colors, bright colors. So here some of the bright colored shots I entered.

Promotion videos

Today I made a number of promotional videos for my website. For me it was practice to see what is possible with Ripl. That is software that was initially only to be used on a mobile phone and the like. I had tried that before, but I found it inconvenient to always copy pictures to my phone. Now it can also be done on the PC. Very nicel, because there you have all the photos available.

I have taken a subscription (which you stop any day) on the pro version. At first it was disappointing. I thought: “is this all there is”. But I had not yet discovered all the options. There is a lot and it is very user-friendly. If you also want to try it, that’s free. It is also fun to play with. RIPL

Here under a number of test videos. I’d like to hear your thoughts about it. There is also sound. Lots of fun! 🙂

Butterflies in the Orchideeënhoeve

Yesterday I visited the Orchideeënhoeve in Luttelgeest. A wonderful place that had a whole new fly cage with beautiful birds and with ringtailed makis. It looks great and the animals have a lot of space. I love going there. It is spending a day in the tropics only one hours drive away. There is also a butterfly garden. I’m sharing shots of butterflies I made there.

Enjoy!

Insects at Groenrijk

Today I had to photograph my bad mood away :P. That is why I went to Groenrijk Raalte with the camera. I’m allowed to take pictures there and enjoy going there. They always have so many beautiful flowers. I have of course photographed flowers. And where there are flowers, there are insects. Wonderful to look at and make pictures of. In this blog some of the insect photos from this afternoon.

It is always difficult to see which insect it is. I assume a hoverfly.

People often hate flies. They can be very anoying. But what do you think, isn’t the shine and color of this fly amazing. And this is also a selfie from me. The dark spot on his back is the reflection of me 🙂

Flowers have company

We have a heat wave in the Netherlands. I am not a fan of very high temperatures. It is vacation, so I give myself a tropical roster. Getting up early (around 5:30 a.m.), afternoon siesta with afternoon nap and to bed late at night. It is wonderful to go outside early with the camera. Yesterday at 8 AM I walked in the zoo in Osnabrück (blog follows). This morning a bit simpeler a bridge to bridge walk along the Overijssels canal.

Again I hoped to photograph butterflies, but unfortunately that did not workout. There were some, but no pictures. However, there were beautiful flowers. And just when I wanted to photograph a beautiful southern marsh orchid, the flower got company. A Common carder bee flew from flower to flower around the orchid. So nice.

The Hedge bindweed was also there in the reed. Many see it as a weed. It is quite annoying when you have it in the garden. But look at itf, is not it a beautiful sight with this goldenrod?
