Red

Red, the color of warmth, love and Christmas. Fits well in the time of the year. Some new photos and some older ones.

Crab cactus

They bloom again! Late November and it is beautiful. I have three in three different colors. Red, white and salmon colored. Too bad they bloom such a short time. The rest of the year they will look a bit boring again. The salmon one had already withered after a week, so pictures of this plant were taken in November 2016. The red and the white still really try their best. These have flowers and buds in different stages. Fortunately, the photos remain.
So these are my crab cacti 🙂

Orchids at the Orchideeën Hoeve

Here it finally is, a blog about the Orchideeën Hoeve with orchid photos 🙂 Photos I made during my most recent visit and also a couple of years ago. I like orchids. I have 16 plants at home. Different types and colors. The plants bloom again every year. Throughout the year I have a few flowering on the table. By the way, I now have to stop buying and taking over. In the resting phase the plants are in the window sill in the kitchen, but that really does not fit anymore. Furthermore, the care is now going to cost a lot of time. I immerse the plants every week. It takes time. By taking over, I mean that I get plants from people who do not get them to flower again, or have space for them.

Flower splendor at the Orchideeën Hoeve

A whole series of photos from my visit to the Orchideeën Hoeve. This is my third post, and I have not yet posted any Orchids! Pretty crazy of course 🙂 There is a chance that my fourth post on this visit does not contain orchids either. That is not because they are not there. But because there are many other beautiful things to see and photograph.

There is more and more. Also for birds you can go there now, besides the Lori garden, there is a flycage with beautiful water birds. The Orchideeën Hoeve is a lovely tropical getaway, especially if the weather is not tht good. By the way, for those orchids…. Stay tuned :-).

With every visit I try to take a nice picture of these flowers. There is a tree with these beauties. Unfortunately I’m not lucke enough to be there if the flower is completely open and fresh. Or they are much too high. Not this time either, unfortunately. But it still is a beauty I’ll keep trying.

I’m sharing two bromelia photos and they are completely different. Prove that there are so many beautiful different species of this plant family.

A very small passion flower. This was on a plant in the “butterfly nursery”. The plant was heavily battered by the caterpillars, but did its best to make something beautiful.

All visitors walked past this beauty. It was high and no attention was paid to it. I am a fan of these flowers myself. So beautiful! The bracts with those small white-yellow flowers in it are beautiful.
