Colourful feathers in close-up

Mandarijneend – Mandarin duck

When I look back in time, I see that my first photography outing of the year is usually Pantropica (Formerly Orchideeënhoeve). This year it was the same again. And I loved it. My subscription was still valid for exactly 3 days. It was just about possible.

In order to be able to take pictures, I brought two cameras, each with its own lens. My old Canon EOS 80d with the Tamron 16 to 300 mm lens. A fantastic lens that is unparalleled, but does not fit on my full frame Canon EOS R8. For this last camera I do have the Tamron 150 to 600 mm lens. I can use it with my Meike MK-EFTR-C Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find affordable alternative lenses for the R8 with comparable possibilities. With each photo I write which set I used.

My favorite subject in this park are the birds. Over the years there have been more and more of them. They are beautiful! It is so much fun to photograph these beautiful colored feathers in close up. Furthermore, the experiment with two cameras was also successful. It is a pity that I buy a smaller, lighter camera to take less heavy stuff with me, while I then take two cameras with me. I have to think about that again.
