Gorilla gorilla gorilla

The title of this blog is “Gorilla gorilla gorilla“. No, that is no mistake. It is the scientific name for the Western lowland gorilla. I’m posting a lot of photos of Western lowland gorillas taken in the Apenheul. There are only 8 gorillas left of the group, since the previous silver back moved to a different zoo with his sons. The new leader is Bao bao. I shared a photo of him, but only because I feel he should be in this post. I think is so not-photogenic. The rest of the group, even the gray old lady, are great. She is 46 and that is old for a gorilla. The gray color is how she always looked. That is not caused by old age. Her children also have the light hair color.

I’ll try to make some nice shots of Bao bao next time. Hope to catch his good side 😉
