A new blog with photos taken during my visit to Rotterdam Zoo on September 20th. This time not a specific subject, but random photos that I took that day.
There are beautiful big cats and gorillas in this zoo. I had no luck. I didn’t even see the lions and gorillas. They have a lot of space and have space to hide. And that is very nice. A tiger walked close to a window several times. And there you are with your zoom lens. It works fine again, but it is of no use if animals come too close. It was a great sight.
Of course there are also many other animals. Here is a selection.
This Steller’s sea eagle was the perfect model. I took many pictures of it. Such a beautiful and impressive bird!
This guy was doing his very best to ignore me. He had very emphatically sat down with his back to me. When I walked away a bit, he couldn’t help but take a peak.
Okapis are such special animals. I think their behinds are the most beautiful. Look it up. They have beautiful stripes on their behinds.
When the eyes are closed, it looks mostly like a pile of feathers. They were lying there very relaxed.
In every zoo I always photograph the flowers. In spring summer also outside. The flowers below remind me of orchids. Maybe they are. I don’t know. They are very beautiful.
