In the Apenheul

West-Afrikaanse franjeaap - King colobus

Yesterday I went to the Apenheul with the idea that it would be the last time this year. It was wonderful again. I therefore hope that it will happen again this year. If it is dry and above 15 degrees, then it is “Apenheul here I come”.

The light was beautiful. The leaves are already starting to change color a bit. Then the photos get a nice warm background. That is why I definitely have to go there again this fall.

Furthermore, I took some photos of species that I want to make a specific post about. Among others about the bonobo. However, my first photo below is one of a bonobo baby. Such a sweet little bumblebee.

Below I share a selection of the photos that I took.

I also share two photos of capuchin monkeys. Cute animals, but always so deadly serious. They are very intelligent, active and handy, only the face does not quite fit in.

This red ruffed lemur has “lit a cigarette”. I could have removed the grass, but it does look funny.

I edited the background of this crowned sifaka. It has become a bit calmer now.

This is the best photo of the day for me. No, this colobus monkey is not smiling. The non-verbal communication of monkeys is simply different from that of humans. This monkey greeted another monkey, just after a conflict had taken place. This is the face of the greeting, but somewhat submissive.

That I managed to capture this, was pure luck. I happened to point my camera at this monkey. And then this face appeared. And click!
