Little bonobo boy

Today my first real visit this year to the Apenheul. I was there during a very short visit about 6 weeks ago, but I couldn’t really take pictures. Today it was wonderful. Great weather and it wasn’t that busy.
Looking back I didn’t even take that many photos. I had a nice walk and really “watched monkeys”. There are so many young now. So sweet.
I also stayed with the bonobos for a long time. Through a dirty window I made pictures of this cute little fellow. He was playing and having so much fun. Alone, but also with a somewhat larger bonobo girl. It was nice to see that she was very sweet and careful with the little one. She really took into account that he is still so small.
A bit worrying was that the little one had a piece of plastic. He had it in his mouth and played with it. I don’t think he ate anything. No idea how it got there. There is no open connection where the public can throw something in. Possibly it was in the hay.
