Still lockdown. I have to say that I am getting tired of it now. I long to be able to go to zoos again. That gets worse, because all zoos in our neighboring countries are open. Anyway, then edit old photos again. Old floral photos on black. Hopefully you’ll like them. Enjoy watching! READ MORE

Beaks and feathers
A post with a lot of photos. Double as much as in my other posts. They are all taken in Vogelpark Avifauna. And this is just a very small selection of the birds you can see there. I only went there once in 2017. The conditions were far from perfect. It was December and there READ MORE
In love in Avifauna
When the lockdown is extended again, there is no other option than to edit old photos. The nice thing about it is that you come across photos that you had forgotten. Years ago I went to Avifauna. Especially since it was close to a company where I could have a Tamron lens updated. The weather READ MORE
Vintage photos
Sunday afternoon and still lockdown. I have no new animals photos. Zoos in the Netherlands are still closed. Therefore I’m playing with Photoshop again. I converted 6 photos to a vintage portrait. I have searched for appropriate animal portraits. What always strikes me with the old portraits is that people often look tense and unnatural. READ MORE
Rainbow colors
There are so many beautiful colors in nature. There aren’t many animals that wear all of the primary colors with as much flair as rainbow lorikeet. They are busy and noisy, but also so beautiful! In several zoos they have areas where you can feed them. People love it when they come to them. Where READ MORE
Early birds
Early birds is a literal translation of the Dutch :”vroege vogels”. I’m not sure if it has the same meaning as it has in Dutch. For us it means the first ones to arrive. Sunday morning, time for a walk. Didn’t feel like taking my 150-600 mm lens. Too heavy and I didn’t think I READ MORE
Baby faces
A blog full of “monkey” babies. They are always so sweet. Some species look a bit like wrinkly old men. This is especially true for baboons and macaques. Yet they are to melt. In recent years I have photographed countless babies. Here is a selection of the past 7 years. All re-edited. A cuteness overload. READ MORE
Emerging from the dark
Old photos, new edits. Editing photos on a black or at least dark background remains fun. I took most of the photos with my old camera and first lens. Both not the quality I have now. Often there is a little less detail in the photos. But I do see the gaze, the emotions that READ MORE
Den Alerdinck and the Colckhof in the snow
Not photographed for almost 3 months. The last time was in Amersfoort Zoo. Lockdown and for now there is no prospect of a visit to a zoo. Such a pity. Then something else. Outside my comfort zone. During a walk yesterday I enjoyed the snow. Two adjacent estates; Den Alerdinck and the Colckhof. Light HDR READ MORE
2020 leftovers 2
Lockdown, so no new photos. Time to go through my photos from 2020. From every visit, there are photos that don’t fit in to a post. I usually have a theme for a post. So now I’m posting leftovers. There are a lot of leftovers. This is my second post and there is more to READ MORE
